Valentine’s Day is this weekend! If you are someone like me who falls for the cute overpriced heart shaped desserts. Then you are in the right place. What was once a day to show your love to your significant other has turned into a self-indulgent day of sweet pastries and expensive dinners. When you don’t have a lover to share the day with. You tend to compensate by treating yourself right and spending your money in the name of self-love. I won't say self-love is wrong. We all need to love ourselves a little more, but too much can become cloying. As for the desserts listed on this blog, they were the right amount of sweet. I was honestly left wanting more. I went to three cafes this week to try some delicious desserts that were Valentine’s Day themed. I was bombarded with ads on Instagram the week prior, with different cafes and their specialty menu. Unfortunately, a lot of ads were for cafes in other cities and other states. These three cafes reached their target audience. A complete sucker for cute looking pastries and pink colored drinks.
Paris Baguette

This was one of the first ads I saw online. I remembered that there was one in downtown San Francisco near Montgomery Street. I'm familiar with their location in Daily City but not the one in San Francisco. It is a much smaller bakery, but they have a nice selection of pastries and drinks. As well as a decent seating area. Many cafes in the downtown have little to no seatings. I got to try their Pink Velvet King Cream Donut and the Pink Velvet Macchiato. I give them both a 10/10 very yummy. If I could take the trip down, there more often I would have tried their other items. Everything looked so good especially the cakes. 10/10 for aesthetic. I will say that the macchiato was disappointing visually because when I received my drink the drink was mixed. Though flavor wise it was good.
Anderson Bakery

Next stop was Anderson bakery. I love this place that I frequent it often when I need a quick
bite or a sugar rush from their selection of pastries. I tried their Mini Ganache Hearts and their Valentines Day Heart Cookies. Honestly the ganache cake was no different than their chocolate ganache cake, just without filling. It was still very good. Chocolate ganache is my favorite cake, and I wish there was more chocolate on top, it left me wishing for more. Next, I had their cookie, it was a half chocolate dipped sugar cookie. Can’t go wrong with a sugar cookie. Both were really good. I would rate 9/10 it, just didn’t feel new enough. Now if I would have tried the Strawberry Pistachio Chocolate Tart it would have been different. If I have the time next time, I will definitely try it out.
Screen Savor

Screen Savor is my favorite place. I go every time there is something new and this time, they
had something new! A lot of their drinks are anime or game related, but you don’t have to be into the game to order a specialty drink. The drink I tried was called Queens Domain, it's a red velvet latte with oreo crumbs. Anything with oreo crumbs sign me up! To be honest with you I don’t think this latte had caffein in it. I didn’t taste it (or maybe my taste buds are dead) all I tasted was oreo and milk, but it was good. Not too sweet, I would definitely order again. As for the red velvet, I didn’t taste anything remotely red velvet and it could just be a descriptor. But if you are ever looking for fun drinks, you should totally check out screen saver. They also have another drink called Awakened Desire which is green tea with blood orange and strawberry popping boba.
